In addition to our “All Tournament Teamwe will also be recognizing twelve competitors who have excelled, at not only wrestling, but also in academics, community and family involvement, and civic achievements.  This “Wellstone Teamwill be recognized during the tournament based on nominations by coaches, parents, wrestlers, and the media. 

 

Paul Wellstone, a senator from Minnesota, and a 2000 inductee into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, died tragically in an airplane accident just prior to the inaugural Clash wrestling tournament.  He was a successful high school and collegiate wrestler who used his dedication and determination to excel in public service.
